Grass

In the winter I posted this photo of a backyard ice rink

Well I drove past there today and it now looks like this!  Amazing how the grass just bounces back.

Our little friends the squirrels have been having more fun digging up their stash underneath our grass...  it looks terrible!  But look how soft and fertile the earth looks!

Speaking of grass the striking students must be smoking a lot of it.  We're now into the 12th week of strikes and the "negotiations" are starting.  Although some of the student demands are kind of wacky and I think quite unreasonable.  Some of these OTT demands include a captial tax on banks to raise $400 million to make tuition free.  Cutting research funding and banning advertising for new students.  (As someone who used to "sell" a university to prospective students I find this last one really silly.)  The most militant student union say they will continue striking until these demands are met.  There is now talk of this dispute being resolved in a general election.
