Double digits

Well we reached above zero double digits in the weather yesterday!  11 degrees Celsius and it's supposed to get to 13 degrees today.  Apparently it's one of the warmest winters on record.

Warm days means the snow will melt so before it's all gone we'd thought we'd give painting it a go!

This will be our pool deck - see the diving board!
I know I said it was 11 degrees but we went out early to do this and it was still cold...
While this was lots of fun, our little bottles of colour didn't last very long.  I think the effect is very Pro Hart!

This morning I went out to take some photos of what the nature fairies have been up to (I've seen Tinker Bell way too many times!).  The snow is melting and grass it poking up everywhere.  It's amazing it can survive with all that snow on top.

However I was distracted by the appalling state of the roads.  Montreal (and most of Quebec) is pot hole central...  These photos were taken within two metres of the end of our driveway and they are completely representative of what we drive on all day.  This is not just a result of cold weather - the rest of Canada isn't this bad nor is the USA.

I don't know what the government is doing with the tax dollars... it's not going to the GP shortage, it's not going into higher education (the uni students are now on strike over increased fees) and it's certainly not going into the roads...  Locals moan about it but no one seems to hear it...

xx

ps - the very exy drugs have worked their magic and I'm feeling heaps better!  Phew!
