Water

Remember way back when we first arrived how we got a letter from the local water authority asking us to turn a tap on and keep it running all winter?  Well we just got the letter letting us know that we can turn it off now!

Note how the letter is written in French and English?  That's "permitted" because our area is predominately Anglophone.  Most councils on the island would be French only.

Speaking of water I'm waiting for our new dishwasher to arrive.  The old one started overheating last week and was beyond repair.  One of the best things about renting is this kind of expensive situation isn't our problem!  We shrug our shoulders and say "oh well" then call the landlord.  It's fantastic!  On the other side of the landlord coin we're hopefully immune to some of these problems because our house is quite new.  (Touch wood).
